The Global Street Dance Project:
Is a multimedia dance and performance presentation of club and street dance styles as a valid artform. A journey through current movement vernaculars, histories and rarely documented street dance, the Global Street Dance Project seeks to define and expand awareness to the many street dances from around the world. Introduced by conceptual creator and “Dancer of Ceremonies” Rashad Pridgen with live demos, dancers, rarely seen video footage and interactive media prompts for the audience in an interactive approach.
February 2020 Rashad was asked to present as a Global Creative Pro. The integration of Apple technology through understanding iphone11, ipad, recording techniques, 4k, Slo Mo, focus, techniques for capturing dance, utilizing siri voice command, setting up gimbal for motion recording and a curating with an iTunes playlist explored. The Global Street Dance Project is integrative dance and technology as an on-going collaboration.

The Global Street Dance Masquerade is an on-going, site specific presentation of full body masquerade suits. Conceptualized, designed and choreographed by creative director, multimedia dance, and performance artist Rashad Pridgen. The #gsdmq8 public art has performed throughout the Bay Area California. With Interactive works that include: 2015 The Bio Spirit Safety Suit, live procession with Yerba Buena Center for the Arts 2017, A Masquerade 4 Prince live procession from the Luggage Store Art Gallery, Market street, the Tenderloin neighborhood and ending at the Tenderloin National Forest. The Global Street Dance Masquerade was transformed into a theatrical experience: Ethos de Masquerade 2017 in collaboration with Campo Santos, A.C.T and Strand Theatre San Francisco. #gsdmq8 The Global Street Dance Masquerade will re-emerge in 2024 with Yerba Buena Gardens Festival Seed Commission, presenting a dynamic tribute to the masquerade journey and reveal of new suits.
